Feminism after school

Learning and empowering yourself doesn’t have to stop when you leave school. There are still lots of work to be done and everyone can make a difference.

  • Follow or join the Women’s Equality Party. They’re a force to be reckoned with.
  • Keep sharing and inspiring on any and every platform.
  • Keep calling out misogyny and sexism in your friends and family.
  • Join protests, campaigns, sign petitions.
  • Never stop reading.

Removing Stigma

What is a Feminist?

For years and years, the idea of a person being a feminist has been met with negative remarks about women wanting to be better than men, when feminism actually means equality for both genders.

Having gender equality benefits all genders. For example, fixing the gender pay gap means there’s more money for people who have a woman in their household.

Every man and woman should be proud to call themselves a feminist. If you don’t identify as a feminist, then ask yourself why that is? Because everyone should want to live in a world where the genders are equal.

Photoshopped images

The digital age has caused a lot of body confidence issues in young people. They are growing up with photoshopped images and ‘Instagram perfect’ lives on their screens every day.

Looking after young adults and informing them that social media does not depict real life will help them to see that the ‘perfect’ bodies they see online are also not real.
