It’s hard raising a son in a world that seems to be so against women. You want him to be respectful and an alley in the fight for gender equality. But where to start?

If you’re worried your son is not respecting women, try having a good, honest conversation with him about toxic masculinity and why they may be acting a certain way. A lot of the time, it is external factors and peer pressure that results in wrong behaviour. Calling out behaviour and chatting to them is the most important thing to do.

Showing your son male role models who are advocates for equality is a great start as well as the simple things like calling out inappropriate behaviour.
